Cons of Technology Advancements: The Ambiguity Surrounding Earthquake Forecasts
We acknowledge that technology has brought about a massive revolution in people's lives, but its use also has negative effects. At times, individuals fail to consider the unfavorable consequences associated with it. One such instance is the earthquake prediction made by a Dutch scientist. Although it was merely a forecast and we cannot precisely measure it, it still had adverse impacts on people's lives for perhaps only a short time. We can take precautionary measures whenever there is a storm or flood in an area; however, earthquake predictions are just that - forecasts- which means they are uncertain regarding their accuracy. Therefore, we do not know what to do or how to act since these events are uncontrollable and unpredictable; we have no accurate knowledge of which areas will be affected more than others.
